๐ Beach School Adventures at Rye Harbour! ๐
At Brede Primary School, weโre always looking for ways to bring learning to life โ and what better classroom than the seashore? Thatโs why weโre thrilled to take part in Beach School sessions at beautiful Rye Harbour, right on our Sussex coastline!
What Is Beach School?
Run by the amazing team at Beach School East Sussex, these sessions are just like Forest School โ but with sand, sea, and salty air!
Beach School follows a child-led, outdoor learning approach where children:
- Explore and learn at their own pace
- Build confidence and resilience
- Boost their physical and mental wellbeing
- Develop a lifelong love for the natural world
From rockpooling and shelter-building to beach art and scavenger hunts, every session is an exciting adventure where learning is hands-on, messy, and meaningful!
Why We Love It ๐
Letโs face it โ kids love the beach. But Beach School is so much more than a fun for children to:
- Build confidence and independence
- Take calculated risks in a safe and supportive space
- Learn teamwork, empathy, and communication skills
- Boost their health, happiness, and sense of wonder
And letโs not forget the joy of salty breezes, sandy toes, and finding treasures washed up by the tide!
Child-Led, Nature-Inspired Learning
Each session is thoughtfully designed to give children time, space, and freedom to follow their curiosity. Whether theyโre building a driftwood den, studying coastal wildlife, or simply watching the waves roll in, itโs all about letting them take the lead and grow through real, meaningful experiences.
Where We Go ๐
Our Beach School adventures take us to Rye Harbour, one of Sussexโs most stunning coastal spots โ rich in wildlife, wide open skies, and space to explore.
