The pupil premium is a grant schools receive to support children. The purpose of the grant is to:
- close the attainment gap between disadvantaged pupils and their peers
- support pupils with parents in the armed forces.
Schools receive money for each pupil who qualifies.
Some children qualify for different amounts of funding. These include children who receive free school meals and children in care. They may face challenges such as:
- poor language and communication skills
- lack of confidence
- issues with attendance and punctuality.
The school chooses how to use the grant to best support each individual child. The aim is to improve pupils’ progress and attainment so that they can reach their full potential.
Our pupil premium report is being updated and will be published soon.
