๐ŸŽ‰ Welcome to Brede Primary School! ๐ŸŽ‰

Weโ€™re a small village school with a big heart โ€” nestled in the beautiful countryside of Brede, East Sussex. Here, everyone knows your name, and we work together as a close-knit community to give every child the best start in life.

Why Brede Is So Special

At Brede, we believe learning should be exciting, inspiring, and full of hands-on experiences. Whether itโ€™s in the classroom or out in nature, we offer rich opportunities to help your child grow into a confident, curious, and happy learner.

Our stunning location, surrounded by the rolling 1066 countryside and just a stoneโ€™s throw from the historic town of Rye, means that learning goes far beyond books โ€” we get to explore, discover, and connect with the world around us every day.

At Brede Primary, we believe children learn best when theyโ€™re active, inspired, and fully engaged. Itโ€™s more than just sitting in the classroom โ€” itโ€™s about nurturing curious minds, building confidence, and growing caring hearts. Thatโ€™s why, alongside a brilliant curriculum, we offer:

๐ŸŒฒ Forest School adventures that get kids outdoors, building confidence and creativity in nature.

๐Ÿ… The Junior Duke Award, helping children build independence, resilience, and life skills through fun challenges.

๐ŸŒฟ Green Education initiatives that teach children to care for our planet and live sustainably.

๐ŸŽจ Creative Arts opportunities, including exciting links with Glyndebourne and The Bright Foundation, where children explore music, drama, and visual arts.

๐Ÿšœ Hands-on Farming Experiences, both on-site and at local farms, where children connect with nature, learn how food is grown, and develop a real appreciation for the environment.

๐Ÿ–๏ธ Beach School, encouraging outdoor learning and lots of fun by the sea.

๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Our innovative School Meeting, where every child has a voice and can help shape their learning community.

Our Core Values: Rights, Respect, and Well-being

Brede Primary is proud to be a UNICEF Rights Respecting School, where every childโ€™s voice matters and their rights shape everything we do. Weโ€™re also a Therapeutic Thinking School, which means we put emotional well-being at the heart of school life, creating a caring space where every child can thrive.

Plus, as part of the PINS Project (Partnership for Inclusion of Neurodiversity in Schools), we celebrate neurodiversity and make sure every learner gets the tailored support they need to succeed.

A School That Shines โ€” On the Path to Outstanding!

In our latest Ofsted inspection (February 2022), Brede Primary School was proudly rated โ€œGoodโ€ for the second time. Inspectors praised our teachersโ€™ passion and expertise, our pupilsโ€™ politeness and respect, and the genuine joy children feel being part of our school community.

But thatโ€™s not all โ€” recent reports from East Sussex Local Education Authority highlight that we are well on our way to becoming Outstanding in all areas. This recognition reflects our unwavering commitment to excellence, inclusion, and continuous improvement.

At Brede, we never stand still. Weโ€™re constantly finding new ways to make learning more engaging, inspiring, and ambitious โ€” because your child deserves nothing less than the best.

In 2025, we achieved the highest combined Key Stage 2 outcomes in the county for reading, writing, and mathematics โ€” and we did it without compromising on our rich and exciting extra-curricular programme, which remains at the heart of our whole-child approach.
